Advice from Our Past Clients on Preparing for Your First Boudoir Session

When you book a boudoir session at one of Holly Douglas & Co.’s luxury boudoir studios (in downtown Nashville or at Studio 110 in Gallatin, TN), you will receive a lot of helpful information about what to expect and how to prepare. Most of that information will come from us in the form of emails and a Preparation Guide before your photoshoot. However, there’s nothing better than hearing advice from those who have actually had a boudoir experience. For this reason, we polled our private Facebook group and asked for advice from our past clients on preparing for your first boudoir session. Here are some of their replies based upon their own personal boudoir experiences with Holly Douglas & Co.:

“All the questions and doubts… LET THEM GO!!”

– Miss L.

“Don’t spend tons of money on buying clothing to wear. I stressed out and bought all kinds of things that I never wore lol.”

“I did think I stretched enough, but I was wrong! Stretch and maybe do yoga couple times a week for at least few weeks before.”

– Miss A.

“Have fun with it. Trust the process, Holly knows what she’s doing. Let your imagination run wild. I wish I would have tried some of the more “risqué” outfits & given her free reign of my shoot.

You will be blown away at how beautiful you truly are!”

“When Holly tells you to drink water and stretch, do it. Also, don’t expend all your energy on worrying about what to wear. Holly’s closet runs deep and she loves playing dress up!”

– Miss T.

“Lose yourself in the moment.”

– Miss B.

“Have fun!!! Enjoy your body!!! I had brought my thigh highs, jewelry, and heels but completely forgot about them because I was so nervous and criticizing everything about myself. Holly is Amazing and will help you with everything.”

– Miss L.

“Bring *several* pieces of lingerie or personality pieces with you to the shoot and let the photographer help you pick which ones to wear for photos. They know what photographs best!”

– Miss J.

“I would do everything the same all over again. All the things … waxing, nails, finding a cute outfit…. Let the process work to just enjoy and take it all in. I would eat more before I left my house. It takes far more energy than I ever expected!!! Hydrate. hydrate…. HYDRATE!!!!

My session has forever changed my point of view. I saw the beauty Holly captured and never looked back at the negative Nelly I was about how I look and feel about myself. This girl is a beautiful, badass woman.”

– Miss J.
