This week’s boudoir experience testimonial comes from the gorgeous Miss A., who was photographed at our luxury boudoir studio in downtown Nashville, Tennessee!

How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir? 

I heard about Holly Douglas Boudoir after doing a Google search for boudoir companies in the local area [Nashville, Tennessee].

Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session? 

I chose Holly Douglas Boudoir because of the diverse clientele and pictures that were available directly on her website, as well as Instagram. Additionally, the first phone call was very personal and allowed me to express my fears and concerns, all of which were validated and reassurance was provided.

What made you decide to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session? 

The one thing outside of the consistent communication that made me take the leap of faith was the diverse group of woman that Holly has photographed. Women of all sizes and shapes looked absolutely stunning in the pictures, as well as the lingerie closet of all sizes. If you’re like me, you may be wondering what the heck do I wear? Holly and her staff reassured me that they would take great care of the outfits, and they did just that.

Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about? 

Heck yes I was nervous! I am a taller, curvy woman and was a little skeptical when considering an experience like this. Additionally, I am a newer, young mom of 16 months and still adjusting to my new body. After having my daughter, I have become self-conscious of my tummy area and thought of every way that it would take away from the shoot.

Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves? 

Absolutely! I felt more at ease after talking with Holly and her second photographer through the makeup session, a glass or two of wine 😉 , and opinions of the lingerie try-on. I believe the one thing that relaxed my nerves the most were the general conversations we had about life and the relatability of just being a woman.

What was your favorite part of the experience and why? 

My favorite part of the experience was the nude portion of my session, which I took a leap of faith on. This was my favorite part because at that moment, I could feel that I had let my guard down and had completely come out of my comfort zone.

How did you feel during your session? 

For the first time in a long time, I felt very confident, strong, and sexy with the way that my body looks. During the session, I felt comfortable and confident in the photographer’s ability to bring out the sexiest parts of my body. Holly allowed me to see what she saw behind the camera multiple times during my session.

Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time. 

When I first saw my images, I was surprisingly amazed at how freaking good I looked, as I had underestimated how sexy I could actually look! I was so nervous about how my tummy would look or that it would be the focal point, but it wasn’t. If I could say anything – trust the process, your session, and the photographers. They got you sis! 

How has your relationship with your body changed since your session? 

I have come to accept my “raisin belly” and see that it doesn’t define me or take away from my sexiness. It’s only a unique feature and a friendly reminder that I created a beautiful little human.

What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc? 

While it’s easier said than done, take it from a young introvert – do it babe! You won’t regret, I promise. The “sexy you” that you may not think is there, is just waiting to be brought out! Your boudoir session will exceed all your expectations and you will be left not only with some beautiful images and products that you can look back on, but saying “dang I did that and I was sexy while doing it!”

Thank you for being everything that I needed at exactly the right time. I cannot wait to see the finalized product and give the album to my soon-to-be husband on our wedding day! I’m anxiously sitting at the top of the chair. 😉
