This week’s boudoir experience testimonial comes from the gorgeous Miss J., who was photographed at our luxury boudoir studio in downtown Nashville, Tennessee!

How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir? 

Southern Women’s Show.

Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session? 

I love how all her pictures look!! I compared her work with a couple other local boudoir photographers and hers looked more classy and professional.

What made you decide to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session? 

I turned 44 on 12/22/2022!!! I’d been wanting to do a shoot for several years. 2022 was really tough for me. I needed something to help me see myself in a different perspective. I needed to do something for ME.

Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about? 

I was a little nervous because I wasn’t sure I could give the sensual looks I see other women have. I’m kind of goofy and clumsy!

Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves? 

I’d followed Holly on social media so long, it felt like we’d already met. We talked while she did my hair and makeup. Once the shoot started, she guided me through poses and how to hold my face to look “softer”.

What was your favorite part of the experience and why? 

My favorite part was feeling like a model, posing in ways that made me feel sexy and trying on outfits I probably would have never considered.

How did you feel during your session? 

I felt powerful!!! It was fun to learn ways of posing to look best on camera!

Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time. 

It was hard to believe I was actually seeing myself in those pictures. I actually cried during the slideshow! I needed to see myself as more than a mom and a wife and WOW. I remembered I still AM a sexy bi*ch!!!!

How has your relationship with your body changed since your session? 

I’m definitely more confident. Even just sitting on the couch! One knee comes up, the other leg tucked, toes pointed, shoulders back and chest out….. yup. I know I look hot!!!

What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc? 

Follow Holly on social media awhile! Especially watch some behind the scenes footage and photo reveals. Holly will have you looking and feeling fabulous in no time. She will guide you through every pose to highlight how beautiful you are. Seeing the pictures is so worth a little bit of nervousness.

Anything else you’d like to add? 

I’m so thankful for this experience. It was even more fun and empowering than I thought it would be!
