How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir? I had received a Facebook ad and I started following them for about 2 years.
Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session? I had looked at many different boudoir photographers in the area and I always came back loving Holly’s pictures the most. Once I joined the group I found a friend of my was in the group who come to find out was friends with Holly and highly recommended her.
What made you decided to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session? I am a curvy lady and kept telling myself that once I lost x lb I would do it. Well, I struggled losing the weight and setting that as a goal actually effected my mental health. Finally, I said I needed to see the strong, sexy, beautiful woman I am now and not wait. So the new goal I set was I would do this for me on my 40th birthday. It was the best present I did for myself.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about? NERVOUS, YES! I was so anxious and closer to the time I became so anxious. I was so worried that I would be the first and only challenging client that couldn’t get one good picture.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves? As soon as Holly open the door all my nervousness went away. Holly has the gift of making you feel like an old friend. By the time it was time for pictures I felt I was just getting pictures in street clothes vs lingerie.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why? I loved the entire experience, I can’t pick just one. The whole experience was empowering.
How did you feel during your session? I quickly felt like this was my normal every day routine. I had a blast!
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time. Unbelievably shocked! I went from fearing there would be no pictures to pick from, to I love them all and how can I eliminate any. I no longer saw my flaws and saw a beautiful woman.
How has your relationship with your body changed since your session? I feel so much more confident and it has pushed me to take the time to love my body for what it is.
What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc? This is for anyone. Do it for yourself, no one else. The thing with boudoir is there are no limits. Wear what is comfortable for you. Sexiness lies within all of us. Holly’s team is great with giving you ideas during calls before the day. Also, take advantage of their payment plan because you will love all the pictures.
