How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir? I heard about Holly Douglas Boudoir through a group on facebook.

Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session? I’ve been eyeing Holly’s work for a few years now. I have seen other photographers work and it doesn’t compare to what Holly can do.

What made you decided to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session? I wanted the session for a variety of reasons. As a kid I was always the one that followed rules, never showed too much skin and was made to feel self-conscious about my body. I was molested by my uncle for several years which made me feel even more ashamed. I was then raped at just the age of 18 and my dad died that year. I got pregnant right after graduating high school so needless to say I have never had something just for me like this. I have never been bold and always felt in the sidelines but this time I felt like I was ready to go bold just in time for my 30th birthday.

Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about? I have anxiety about everything. For me it was the drive there and worrying about how things would go.

Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves? Yes, as soon as I started talking to Holly and Nicole I felt immediately welcomed and safe. They are so sweet and for someone like me that has major anxiety problems to be put at ease is saying something.

What was your favorite part of the experience and why? I don’t think there was one particular part, I loved it all and it was such a magical experience! It was all so magical because I had never had my hair and makeup professionally done, nor had I ever had professional photos of myself. I was able to see the beautiful woman inside of me that was able to shine through that day.

How did you feel during your session? I felt like I mattered, I felt at ease, I felt bold and sexy.

Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time. I was in love with them! I couldn’t believe I could look that good!

How has your relationship with your body changed since your session? I am a lot more confident now to no longer care what others think. I have been doing my makeup more often than I ever did before and putting more focus into how I look.

What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc? Do it! All the nerves will leave the moment you come in the door. Holly is so incredibly talented, you will have phenomenal photos. Holly provides everything from her client wardrobe (which is amazing) to hair and makeup by Nicole to a massage after! You will be pampered and I feel everyone deserves to be pampered and to do something for themselves.
